the real people of noosa
1 Why Noosa? What brought you here?
A family holiday to Coolum in 1999. I fell in love with the coast & purchased a house before the end of my holiday!
2 What did you do in a former life, before coming to Noosa?
I finished high school in Victoria and then studied Tourism Management at University in Albury and worked part time.
3 What makes you stay in Noosa? Describe your relationship with the place?
I love the calmness, the fresh air, the laidback lifestyle, the amazing restaurants and of course, the ocean. I feel suffocated when I’m not around water!! I also love the fact there are no traffic lights!
4 What do you do?
I manage Seahaven Resort which has 66 rooms and 13 commercial premises. It’s a great job and I work with a great team!
5 What makes Noosa ‘tick’ and what are its unique characteristics?
Friday nights in Noosa have a real buzz about them. The influx of people, the buzz in the air, that’s what makes Noosa tick! I would have to say that Noosa’s unique characteristics would be the infamous roundabouts & the bats!!
6 How would you describe Noosa to someone with no knowledge of it?
Paradise….it has it all. Sandy beaches, clear blue ocean, high end shopping, great restaurants & bars….this is why we live here!!
7 What’s your favourite haunt/spot/view/thing to do around Noosa?
I love heading out towards the river mouth in my boat and beaching on the sand bars when the tide is out. Sandy Cove at the spit is also an amazing spot to go stand up paddle boarding & watch the sun set over Cooroy Mountain.
8 Your most unusual Noosa experience…
Watching Hastings Street flood a few years ago!
9 Where was your last holiday?
USA, last minute decision to celebrate my best friend’s birthday!
10 Name someone who has inspired you and why?
I’m inspired every day by different people. Helping the disabled surf over the weekend was an amazing highlight and a reminder of just how lucky I am.
