A perfect day on Noosa River

River life

With its little pocket of beaches, calm waters, jetski fun, boating, sailing, kayaking, fishing, stand up paddleboarding and the passing parade of activity from the river shore, you know you're going to leave this place with a smile on your dial!

7AM

MEET THE LOCALS

Noosaville's main strip, Gympie Terrace, unwinds along a spacious and picturesque foreshore haven where you can take a stroll, run or bike ride along the two-kilometre grassy foreshore of the Noosa River.

Here, you will find friendly locals enjoying their daily exercise or enjoying their locally roasted morning coffee at one of the many groovy cafes along the river.

9AM

GET ACTIVE

If you're wanting to challenge yourself, learn a new skill or are just keen for a little aquatic fun, your in the right place. Learn to sail, stand-up paddle, hire a jet ski or choice of kayaks and canoes and discover the river and its surrounding waterways.

This is the perfect recipe for a hot day on the river when you need to re-energise after a long week!

11AM

A BOATING EXPEDITION

One of the river's most prized assets is the accessibility of boating on a-grade water - and what fun that can bring! Where else can you hire a boat with BBQ's or pizza ovens aboard, self-drive safely along the channels and jump in the pristine water right beside the vessels? If travelling with little ones in tow, head to one of the sandbanks to catch some yabbies - then eat (or use as bait) and repeat!

Choose from one of the local boat-hire houses to enjoy a luxury pontoon or bowrider style boat for a couple of hours or the whole day. This really is a signature Noosa experience that you need to try!

2PM

ENJOY LATE LUNCH WITH A VIEW

Noosa River has a view that combines blue waters, pelicans on the sand and the local boating crews. Noosa River will have you constantly overwhelmed with its endless array of beauty...

With so many food options offering aqua views, choose from restaurants at Noosa Sound to make the most of the river or enjoy a feed along Gympie Terrace where the riverfront restaurants at the Noosa Marina will have you practically touching the water.

5PM

GOLDEN HOUR

The Noosa River is the perfect spot to watch the sunset over the Noosa hinterland with some great vantage points to soak up the last rays of sun for the day.

Our choice is to enjoy a cheeky cocktail and take in the views at the the Sunset Bar on the top deck of the Noosa Boathouse.

Local Tip: If you go on Sunday, they have live music every week combined with a view that will leave you in awe.

So, we've covered the day for you with meeting the locals, getting active by learning how to sail, enjoying some amazing food with a view and basking in the golden sunset to end what will be a magical day!
