CYCLING

For a quick, before-work blast out on one of Noosa’s most popular riding courses:

  • Head out on the Tri course, climb Gyndier Drive and onto Noosa Cooroy Road
  • Take a left onto Dath Henderson Road, Tinbeerwah
  • When you come to the end, take a right onto Sunrise Road
  • Turn left onto Wust Road for a quick descent
  • At the end of Wust Road, take a right onto Eumundi Noosa Road
  • Take a left toward Eumarella and left again back towards Noosa
  • Put the pedal down and you’ll hit the 50km/hour mark on this fast stretch!

TIP: For cycling training, try hill repeats on Gyndier for strength or the Girraween for Criterium Circuit in Noosa Heads for speedwork.

SWIMMING

We’re spoiled for choice here in Noosa! Whether it’s a pool or the ocean you’re after for your swim training, Noosa has the perfect spot for you.

Noosa Aquatic Centre, Sunshine Beach
The locals call it the NAC and it’s a great outing for training solo or with the family who have tagged along on your holiday! There’s great 50m and 25m lap pools and a kids’ pool to keep them occupied - there's also an onsite creche (book ahead).

TIP: if you head down for some morning laps, check out the café after – it’s great!

Ocean swimming
There’s no better place than Noosa’s beaches for some real ocean swimming. In winter, the water temperature is a beautiful 21 degrees and in summer, it can get to a balmy 25 degrees.

For a calm swim, jump in at Main Beach, Noosa Heads and swim out to Flat Rock. You can see the shoreline the entire way! If you’re after an open water swim, head out with some mates to Tea Tree Bay. Keep an eye out for turtles and dolphins along the way

RUNNING

If you’re after hill repeats, head up Viewland Drive, Noosa Heads to Laguna Lookout or run through Noosa National Park for some spectacular views! If you like wide open spaces, head to Ringtail State Forest, just off McKinnon Drive, Cooroibah which will take you along the Noosa Trail Network.

It’s no wonder Noosa is a great place for athletic events – with trails galore for every type of activity, you’re sure to find the perfect fitness experience here and may well bump into a World Champion!
