Venture into Noosa’s tranquil hinterland as it transforms into a colourful art experience. The Tall Trees Art Exhibition is set over 3 art filled days, celebrating the incredible community artists at Tall Trees Art. Get the family together and finish Noosa’s ARTober with a trip to the quaint town of Cooran.
Tall Trees Art is a community based, not-for-profit organisation that was established in 2012 by local hinterland artists. Since then, Tall Trees Art has grown to become one of the most popular art exhibition hosts in the Sunshine Coast. This incredible organisation works to develop and nurture the artistic pursuits and interests throughout the community, bringing a vast array of art for everyone to enjoy.
The incredible Tall Trees Art Exhibition is an annual community event run by the dedicated Cooran locals, which takes over the quirky and charming buildings of the town’s main street - King Street. The exhibition features more than 100 local artists of which 20 are First Nations artists. Indulge in a weekend filled with all types of mediums, including sculpture, painting and light shows, as well as music, entertainment and food stalls.
This great event kicks off on Friday the 29th of October with the Bendigo Bank Meet the Artists Opening Night, taking place in the Cooran Community Hall from 6pm, for an intimate meet and greet with the artists before the weekend long exhibition begins on the Saturday. The weekend will conclude with a Sunset Lounge feature on Sunday afternoon, make sure to bring a picnic to relax in the field (we recommend pre ordering a delicious Marigold & Fig local gourmet platter box).
So, get the family together and see out ARTober with a range of incredible and local art! Be sure to get your photo taken with Cooran’s iconic Mooran, ‘Noosa Blue Haired Girl’ an art piece created by one of Tall Trees very own artists, painted in colours linked to Autism Queensland. Be sure to also check out the funky Tall Trees Art designed t-shirts to support the organisation in future years – the shirts retail for $25.
