Eumundi & Doonan

Head towards the Noosa countryside from Noosaville and head for the historic town of Eumundi. On the way, nestled in the scenic Noosa Valley, is Doonan, a quiet green belt between the bustling villages of Noosaville and Eumundi. Doonan is a mix of rural and residential areas where many roads have beautiful panoramic views to the coastline. It is home to a golf course and country club, day spa, farm-gates, shops and cafes.

Weyba Downs is another area on the way, hugging the shores of Lake Weyba, where you'll find lakeside retreats, B&Bs and a serene spot for a picnic, fishing or kite-boarding.

Known for its weekly markets, Eumundi is also a vibrant mix of galleries, cafes, pubs, boutiques and unique artisans. Stroll along historic Memorial Drive under the shade of the magnificent memorial fig trees and visit art galleries, a brewery, hear live music and browse colourful streets.

Why we love it

The Original Eumundi Markets are one of Australia's favourites, with hundreds of stalls selling locally made treasures under shady trees. They're held every Wednesday and Saturday, and other markets also operate throughout the town. The kids will love nearby Dick Caplick Park in the main street.

You can hear live music from local and national touring acts at the markets and in hotels every week.

The shopping list

Apart from the hundreds of market stalls selling everything from massage oils and handcrafted wooden furniture to pottery and eclectic crafts, Eumundi also has unique streetside shops with books, bees, hemp clothing, galleries, fashion, jewellery and more.

What’s on the menu

Markets have wonderful fresh fruit, vegetables, local produce and yummy treats. Restaurants and cafes through Eumundi's main street serve delicious coffee and food from around the world. Two historic country pubs serve hearty meals, and one even has its own brewery.

Doonan is home to a country club, cafes and the Flying West coffee roastery.

Hidden Gem

The Discover Eumundi Heritage and Visitor Centre in the main street has fascinating displays of historical objects, photographs and Aboriginal artefacts. The Visitor Centre can also help you find many more fun things to do, including heritage walks.

Nestled in the scenic Noosa Valley, Doonan is a quiet green belt between the bustling villages of Noosaville and Eumundi.
