Walk the coastal track through the Noosa National Park (follow the boardwalk from Noosa Main Beach) and discover the pristine, white sandy beaches of Tea Tree Bay, Granite Bay, Alexandria Bay and Little Cove (on the way to the National Park). These stunning beaches are not patrolled but are great vantage points to watch the waves roll in. Check out the signs at the National Park entrance to choose the best trails to navigate your way.
There are also great surf breaks on offer, at National Park, Tea Tree and Granite Bay (follow the locals), as well as rocky coves and nearby trails to explore.
Tea Tree is 500m east of Nationals (the surfing break at the Noosa National Park entrance) and can be accessed via the coastal walking track past the stunning Boiling Pot lookout. The beach is lined with native flora and is home to local wildlife, so keep your eyes up when visiting and you may spot our local koalas. If you are looking for a relaxing bay to enjoy a quiet beach picnic, or want to ride long waves or say farewell to Noosa days, this is the place.
The second bay that lines the National Park coastal track, Granite Bay is about a 25-minute walk with epic ocean views. For best results, pack a towel, sunscreen, hat, water and snacks. Hit the waves, stick to the sand or enjoy coastal viewing points from Dolphin Point to take in all the Noosa goodness!
This 1.2km stretch of white sand and rolling waves, between the Hells Gates and Devils Kitchen lookouts, is about as secluded as beaches get in the heart of Noosa. The locals know it as 'A Bay' and you can get here via Noosa National Park's popular coastal Tanglewood Track or stroll over the North Sunshine Beach headland. Keep an eye out for the abundance of sea life that lives on the bay points or watch the waves crashing over Lions Rock.
This slice of paradise is known for its dreamy summer vibes, only a five-minute stroll from Hastings Street. This beautiful stretch of sand laps Laguna Bay and has one of the prettiest tropical outlooks, making it one of Noosa's most Insta-worthy spots. It's not quite in the Noosa National Park but you can't miss it on your way, accessible from the Park Rd boardwalk.
Nationals is a local term for the surf point found at the Noosa Heads entrance to Noosa National Park. This west-facing spot (found beyond the car park) offers an open grass area under the gum trees, endless Laguna Bay views and intoxicating sundown moments enjoyed by many. To get there, head east from Hastings Street, follow the coastal road via the Park Rd Boardwalk, and voila, you've made it!
Noosa is the 10th World Surfing Reserve, recognising the community's surf and conservation culture and environmental protection. The 5km stretch of waves from the Noosa River Mouth, across the National Park points to north Sunshine Beach offers five world-class point breaks.
