Noosa Arts Theatre presents the 42nd Noosa One Act Playwriting Festival which attracted record entries from around Australia.
This year's finalists are vying for the coveted Eleanor Nimmo Prize of $5000 and the Nancy Cato Audience Choice Award.
The three finalist are: Litte Angels by Yvette Wall from Floreat in WA, A Very Messy Engagement by Rod Selzer from Melbourne, and Black Matter by Bruce Olive from Buderim, Queensland.
Little Angels is set in the 1960s in a Catholic home for unmarried mothers and reflects the so-called ‘care’ young mothers endured during this pivotal time in their lives.
A Very Messy Engagement is a humorous take on the life of a couples therapist.
Black Matter explores the life and struggles of an ex-footballer who played in a time, not long ago, when a head knock was considered just part of the game.
The festival is a great night of entertainment and audience members should be prepared to be active participants as your decision could launch the career of the winner!
