Tourism Noosa Board

Brett is the Deputy CEO and GM Business Strategy for Queensland’s peak tourism body, the Queensland Tourism Industry Council (QTIC). He joined QTIC in July 2015 after 4 years on the QTIC Board as a non-exec-director with sub-board committee responsibilities for audit, risk and finance and the remuneration committee.

He has extensive C-Suite experience and has held senior executive roles over the past 25 years. With strong practical experience in strategic and operational planning, business growth and leadership of large transformative agendas, Brett has managed and led a diverse range of nationally recognised enterprises including educational, tourism, commercial and community sector operations and businesses.

Prior to joining QTIC, Brett served as the COO and an Executive Director at the Southbank Institute of Technology, the first public-private partnership in Queensland. Previously he held an executive leadership position within Qantas Airways Ltd; and was a consulting CEO for an international private sector operation with operations in India, Malaysia, Middle East and America, and led the establishment in Australia with a focus on education, alternative energy and technology.

Brett has and continues to hold positions on a range of state and national advisory committees, roundtables, boards, and working committees. Currently, Brett represents QTIC on a range of tourism-related committees including national tourism roundtable, national skills and workforce roundtable, non-exec-director Tourism Whitsundays, member of the DestinationQ steering committee, COVID19 state economic recovery taskforce for tourism, Austrade Tourism Approved Destination Status committee, and Gateway Schools steering committee.

A fellow of the Australian Institute of Management, he holds qualifications in business with post-graduate qualifications in business administration and leadership from the University of Queensland and Mt Eliza Business School.
