People of all abilities can enjoy the sun, surf and sand in Noosa, thanks to Wheels to the Waves, with a new beach wheelchair now available for hire through the Noosa Visitor Information Centre on Hastings Street.

The wheelchair is easy to use and complements the all-abilities beach mat on Noosa Main Beach. It comes with an alternative set of wheels for off-road terrain – ideal for exploring the tracks of Noosa National Park.

Tourism Noosa CEO Sharon Raguse said the initiative aligns with Noosa’s commitment to being a welcoming and inclusive destination.

“We’re thrilled to offer the beach wheelchair as part of the services at our Hastings Street centre. It’s a simple but powerful step towards improving accessibility and ensuring everyone can enjoy Noosa’s natural beauty,” she said.

Thank you to the Noosa community for the fundraising for this program, with generous contributions from Events 4 Greater Good, the Tewantin Lions Club, and Member for Noosa Sandy Bolton, and to Councillor Amelia Lorentson for her support.

Trained volunteers at the Centre can provide information about accessible beach access points and facilities nearby. Hire costs are $15 for half-day or $25 for the full day.

Please let your guests and customers know about this new service.

To book, contact the Noosa Visitor Information Centre at info@visitnoosa.com.au or speak with a team member in person.
