Noosa Regional Gallery is the premier regional gallery on the Sunshine Coast. Located riverside on the picturesque Noosa River in Tewantin, and just a short stroll from Noosa Marina cafes and Tewantin's main shopping precinct, the Gallery presents a diverse program of contemporary exhibitions featuring local, national and international artists, curators and collections, and public programs including artist talks, workshops and masterclasses for all ages.
Established in 1981, Noosa Regional Gallery attracts on average 33,000 visitors annually, including local supporters and artists, interstate visitors, plus a healthy portion of international tourists visiting Noosa. Asthe major public gallery in Noosa operating under the auspices of the Noosa Council, Noosa Regional Gallery is a Category A art gallery and is endorsed to host national touring exhibitions, museum-standard displays and state and regional showcases from leading Australian arts institutions, as well as enhancing cultural tourism to the region.
Noosa's acclaimed free entry biannual green art event, Floating Land, which features sculptural installations across select natural sites, is one of the Gallery's continuing, and most ambitious projects.
The Gallery also has a retail shop featuring a curated selection of unique artisan products. From homewares, jewellery and accessories, to books, artworks and gift cards. Each sourced and handmade by local and interstate designers and makers.
Noosa Regional Gallery is located riverside on the ground floor of Noosa Council's main office at 9 Pelican Street, Tewantin.
Tuesday to Friday, 10am to 4pm and Saturday to Sunday from 10am to 3pm. Closed Mondays, public holidays and during exhibition changeovers.
There is level access from the lower car park next to the Gallery. Accessible toilet facilities are also available.
