Head down the coast road from Sunshine Beach, through Sunrise, dog-friendly Castaways and Marcus beaches to the seaside village of Peregian Beach. Nature surrounds with national park walks and the serene Lake Weyba at Peregian’s doorstep.

Locals and visitors love the laidback and chilled community vibe, and Peregian Beach has a great choice of holiday accommodation, resorts, and holiday houses. Check-in and leave the car behind as you can walk to Peregian Village Square with its family-friendly restaurants, cool cafes and takeaways set under cool shady trees.

Lake Weyba, on the other side of Noosa National Park behind Peregian, is a serene spot to watch the day begin or get active with horse riding, kite-boarding, fishing, canoeing, and birdwatching.

Why we love it here

Nearby Emu Mountain (Peregian means emu in the indigenous Kabi Kabi language) is a fairly easy climb with mesmerising coastal and hinterland views. Walk or ride a bike for miles along the golden sand or coastal path. There's a great skate park and children’s playground right along the beachfront.

On the menu

Drop-in at hip cafes and coffee haunts, yummy bakeries, and colourful family-friendly eateries, all serving fresh local produce, seafood, or global eats. Or order takeaway fish and chips, burgers, or sushi and head for a picnic on the beach or in the grassy village square.

What's on

On the first and third Sunday morning of each month, the open-air Peregian Beach Markets have a great range of local arts, fashion, and food stalls. Do as the locals do and add the regular Village Vibes events to your calendar, with offerings like an outdoor cinema and live music in the square.

Our tip

Do a lap of Peregian Square, right in the centre of the village, hopping from unique clothing boutiques to surf shops, barbers, homewares, design and furniture stores, massage rooms and day spas.

A classic sandy feet and salty hair beach holiday vibe, with a dollop of sophistication for foodies and fashionistas.
