Situated on Yabba Creek at Imbil in South East Queensland, 95 minutes drive north of Brisbane, Imbil Bridge Farm is an adventure getaway or a relaxing escape to the country.
The 30 acre property is centered around the 1920s Queenslander farm house which has been elegantly restored. It features a classic lounge-dining area with wood fireplace opening on to an alfresco, creek-front verandah. The home is air conditioned for both cooling and heating.
As you sit quietly on the verandah, look out for platypus, turtles, saratoga fish, and a variety of water birds in an ever-changing show of wildlife.
The three bedrooms (a queen with ensuite, a queen and two singles) each open on to a second sweeping verandah and have views of the property and the creek.
Downstream of the farmhouse the creek is held back by a natural waterfall and weir, providing a constant deep water level for kayaking, swimming and fishing - all directly accessible from the house.
Upstream is Lake Borumba which is stocked with bass, perch and saratoga fish and is also popular for water skiing.
The next best thing about a visit to Imbil Bridge Farm is its close proximity to the charming village of Imbil, just a short walk across the town bridge. The village is the hub of the beautiful Mary River Valley and has an historic hotel, cafes, general store and most facilities.
