Sumi Open Kitchen

Watching your meal being prepared by the chefs as you sit back in the stylish, cosy décor of Sumi Open Kitchen brings a whole new level of enjoyment to your dining.

This Japanese restaurant tucked away in the entertainment and dining precinct of Noosa Junction, just over the hill from Hastings Street, bares it all as the chefs share their experience with diners. A central kitchen is surrounded by glass and a low wooden bar that gives diners a great view of their exquisite food being prepared – it’s a great chance to learn so much more about this delicate cuisine.

The kitchen is completely open so there are no mysteries when it comes to the preparation of your meal. Sumi Open Kitchen’s Trust The Chef set menu gives diners a choice of four or six courses. It’s a fresh concept that encourages diners to believe in the skill and taste of the chef. The menu changes with the seasons and is updated with the fresh, local produce available each day.

With the choice out of your hands, there’s nothing left to do but sip on the delicious organic sake and wines.

Sumi Open Kitchen is open for dinner from Wednesday to Sunday, 5.30-10pm.
