Family experiences

Noosa is a mecca for family fun, bursting with kid-friendly activities to make lifelong holiday memories to treasure. Surrounded by beautiful nature, there’s endless outdoors fun for the whole family, along with great shopping and markets, indoor games, family-friendly restaurants and cafes, and a smiling welcome wherever you go.

Noosa is blessed with safe, sandy beaches for refreshing family swims (always swim between the red and yellow flags), easy bike paths, beautiful walking trails, playgrounds, nearby attractions, waterfront barbecue and picnic areas.

The whole family can learn to surf or stand-up paddle board, or how about cuddling a koala or flying through the treetops? There’s all this and more.

Get on the water

Fishing and family holidays are a classic combination, so throw in a line from the water’s edge in Noosa – you might even catch your own dinner. Hire a little boat from jetties along the river and take the family for a day on the water, or join a fishing charter and let the experts find the best spots for you.

A Noosa Ferry cruise along the river is a must-do, or jump on-board one of the beautiful sunset cruises and daytime river trips to see a new side of Noosa. For something completely different, hire a Nauticycle (a bicycle that you can ride on the water) or a the donut-shaped electric BBQ boat from RoundAboat Noosa.

Fun by the river

Noosaville, on the banks of the Noosa River, is a family favourite with 2km of grassy parkland and plenty of room to kick a footy or have a picnic. Kids will love the riverfront Pirates Playground.

You can ride a bike or scooter the whole way along the flat path (hire bikes are available) – and make sure you stop for a photo with the Big Pelican which has even featured in an episode of Bluey! A few minutes upstream is Tewantin and the Noosa Marina, with family-friendly restaurants, shops, fish and chips, ice cream and boat tours. A free splash park and skate ramp are nearby.
