What to do
Happy World Tourism Day for today! Our region has been fortunate enough to secure some significant funds from the State Government to put towards specific initiatives and campaigns to assist in the recovery of the Peregian area fires. Our goals are to remind everyone that our beautiful region is resilient and open for business as usual.
Tourism Noosa joined Visit Sunshine Coast and Sunshine Coast Airport on Tourism Australia’s booth at last week’s World Routes 2019 aviation conference in Adelaide, meeting people from global airlines, airports, tourism authorities and industry influencers.
It was a great opportunity to develop relationships and network with airlines, airports and other destination tourism bodies, and discuss potential partnerships in the lead-up to the new longer/international Sunshine Coast Airport runway.
Tourism Noosa member Australia Zoo supported the booth with a koala toy giveaway, and we partnered with Visit Sunshine Coast on offering a prize for 2 people to experience Noosa and the Sunshine Coast.
Renovations will start at the Hastings Street Visitor Information Centre in early October, refreshing the popular hub for locals and visitors.
The redesign, managed by local designer Di Henshall Interior Design, will connect the interior to the original architecture by Bark Architects that was inspired by our natural surroundings.
The centre welcomes 200,000 visitors each year and is set to become a true inspiration hub. We’ll be showcasing the wonderful experiences and products that Noosa offers our national and international visitors, and will celebrate our indigenous heritage and Noosa’s green values.
After 10+ years, we are lifting our presentation and product to ensure our Noosa offering exceeds the high expectations of our national and international visitors.
The work is expected to be completed in time for the busy summer holiday period.

The Hastings Street Visitor Information Centre now has a wonderful new range of local Noosa products so visitors can take home a little piece of Noosa.
The new range now available at the centre includes Hinterland Feijoa products, Big Heart Bamboo Chutneys, Noosa Black Coffee, Pure Sands Jewellery, and other Noosa branded gifts.
We are also inviting expressions of interests from local producers, designers and artists to get in contact with us, with a view to having their products available in the new-look centre.
Local producers, designers and artists wanting to express their interest in having their products showcased at the centre can contact Centre Manager Jasmin Boyd at email@example.com
