Turn Trash Into Treasure These September School Holidays! ♻️
Get ready for a hands-on, eco-powered adventure these school holidays! Precious Plastic Noosa and The Maker House is hosting an inspiring, creativity-fuelled workshop where kids can learn how plastic waste is transformed into brand-new products, and make their own to take home!
In this two-hour session, young change makers will explore the world of plastics through a fun and interactive education session. They’ll learn why single-use plastics are such a challenge, how different recycling numbers work, and discover the journey of a bottle cap from “rubbish” to “resource.” Each child receives their own activity handout to learn, colour, and explore as they go.
Then it’s time to get hands-on! Kids will rotate through four action-packed fully supervised stations (by educators with Blue Cards), including:
1. Sorting bottle tops collected from local Noosa businesses into colour and plastic type
2. Shredding plastic using a kid-friendly bench top shredder
3. Exploring activities from their handout
4. Extruding plastic into their very own creation - choosing either a pen or a surf wax comb!
This is a drop and go event so parents are able to drop off and return for pick up at the end of the session!
Every participant will leave with a finished product made by their own two hands, plus new knowledge about recycling and a fresh spark of environmental pride.

FAQ’s
What ages is this suitable for?
This workshop is tailored for 7-13 year olds but older children are also welcome. Unfortunately we cannot take bookings for children under 7.
Is there a toilet on site?
Yes! We have a bathroom available for all participants.
What can my child bring?
We will supply all materials and safety gear. Please bring a reusable water bottle and snack if needed (no nuts allowed please).
What should my child wear?
Regular comfy clothes are perfect. Long hair should be tied back and closed-toe shoes worn.
Can parents stay?
This is a drop and go event where parents will be required to sign their kids in and out. You are welcome to stay to get your child settled, but also please let us know if you have a preference to stay for the duration of the session and we can likely accommodate this.
