Cycling in Noosa

Whether you're an experienced cyclist or just looking for a leisurely ride, Noosa offers something for every rider.

Cycling along Noosa’s coastal and hinterland trails is one of life's great pleasures. You'll find yourself riding alongside the beautiful blue waters of the Pacific Ocean and the Noosa River, on cool rainforest tracks, and smooth open roads that wind their way to mountain climbs and country cafes.

Mountain bikers, road cyclists, weekend rouleurs, triathletes, gravel riders, steel-framed aficionados, kids, families and everyone in between all find a place to pedal in Noosa.

Noosa Biosphere Trails

Cyclist Magazine recently tried out a challenging 100km ride through the Noosa Biosphere Trails – read their story here

Downhill Trails

From the top of Mt Tinbeerwah, take in stunning 360-degree views across the coast and hinterland before descending to the Wooroi Day Use Area and trail network at the main entrance off Cooroy–Noosa Road. Here, trails weave through subtropical rainforest into the gullies below, with options ranging from easy to more challenging routes.

Ocean Views

Take in the ocean views on the trail from the beachside villages of Sunrise Beach and Peregian Beach. This windy road trail stretches just over 6km, so while it's a short one, you'll want to schedule in some time to take in the view.

Adventure Tours

Don't have your own bike? No problem. Hire a bike or join a guided mountain biking tour with By Earth and Ocean, Bike On or Spoke N Trail, both offering a variety of bikes and tours tailored to different experience levels and interests. The fully guided tours which includes pick-up and drop-off from your accommodation, and a forest picnic, is done at your pace through bush tracks, small creeks and rainforest.

If you’re looking for something a little less active, Noosa is a beautiful place to hire a bike and ride along the riverfront, bike paths and dedicated cycle lanes on mostly flat areas. Bike paths and lanes follow the Noosa River through Tewantin and along Gympie Terrace, Noosaville, connecting through to Noosa Main Beach, Noosa Heads. You can even pack a picnic and take you bike on the Noosa North Shore Ferry from the end of Moorindil Street, Tewantin, and ride to Noosa North Shore for a relaxing day.

All sorts of bikes, including electric bikes are available for hire through Bike On, Spoke N Trail or By Earth and Ocean .
