Sunshine Beach

The chilled beachfront village of Sunshine Beach is set beneath a canopy of green trees and pandanus palms – perfect for a relaxing beach holiday. Stay in beachfront resorts or holiday homes, and walk to a great range of restaurants, cafes, hip bars and takeaways.

It’s on the southern side of the Noosa National Park headland, about a 5-minute drive from Noosa Heads – you can even walk around the headland from Noosa Heads to Sunshine Beach (about 2.5 hours) - for stunning coastal views.

Sunshine Beach is the start of a 15km stretch of open beaches with surf breaks and plenty of white sand, perfect for long walks or even a bike ride.

Why we love it here

Walk from your holiday digs to the beach and watch the sun rise over the sea. Bring the dog to play on the off-leash dog beach at the northern end.

Look out for humpback whales passing by from June to October. Lifesavers patrol the beach every day, so take a dip, watch great surfing action or bring your board and join them.

The shopping list

Between the restaurants, cafés and bars, Duke Street is also home to haircuts, surf gear, homewares, gifts, Pilates and yoga studios, a bottle shop and design studio.

What’s on the menu

The main hub, Duke Street, has global cuisine including some of our best modern Asian and Italian.

Find breakfasts from sinful and hearty to healthy and wholesome, great coffee, cold-pressed juices, pizza, burgers and yum cha.
