Noosa Walks and Hikes

Walking in Noosa can take you from the popular coastal tracks of Noosa National Park to remote eucalypt forests and giant sand dunes on the Cooloola Great Walk, and from mountain lookouts to the hinterland tracks of the Noosa Trail Network. Cross the world’s only adjoining UNESCO-recognised Biosphere Reserves (Noosa and the Great Sandy), and combine your walk with swimming, surfing, bird-watching, canoeing, cycling or running.

Walk with sand between your toes or in full hiking gear. Share tracks with surfers, joggers and visitors from around the world, or escape to the solitude of hidden subtropical rainforests.

The Cooloola Great Walk links Noosa North Shore with Rainbow Beach,about 100km of hidden rainforests, coastal woodland and heath-clad plains, traversing theNoosa Everglades (one of only two everglades systems in the world), giant dunes and coastal cliffs – all with stunning views.

NOOSA TRAIL NETWORK

Eight scenic hinterland trails make up the Noosa Trail Network, just half an hour from Noosa’s beaches, traversing country towns of Cooroy, Pomona, Cooranand Kin Kin through farmlands, forests and spectacular mountain lookouts.

The Great Noosa Trail Walk on the Queen’s Birthday long weekend (29 September to 1 October 2018) takes walkers through this beautiful countryside with time to enjoy the landscape, local cafes, antique shops and nightly country hospitality. Bookings are filling fast.

NOOSA NATIONAL PARK

Warm up for your Noosa walk and experience the Noosa National Park, one of Australia’s most popular and accessible – from Noosa Headland that juts into Laguna Bay, to spring wildflowers, coastal rainforest, a mountain summit walk and heathland tracks.

Easy to moderate walking tracks wind along the coast with spectacular views to Noosa North Shore and rocky outlooks that are home to turtles, dolphins and other native animals. Also see whales from June to October.

Or take the Noosa Hill track, Palm Grove Circuit or Tanglewood Track and link through to Alexandria Bay and Sunshine Beach.

The southern section of Noosa National Park covers Emu Mountain, Peregian Beach and a summit walk to Mt Coolum.
