Wandering the Noosa Biosphere Trail Network: Nature's Haven Unveiled with Zorali

The Noosa Biosphere Trail Network offers an immersive journey through diverse ecosystems across Noosa with 8 trails for all skill levels from beginners (green) to intermediate (blue) . Spanning over 100 kilometers, the network of trails winds through the UNESCO-biosphere designated reserve, showcasing the area's natural wonders and cultural heritage.

Each trail in the Noosa Biosphere Trail network will lead you through unique terrains, on a journey deep into the heart of the Noosa Hinterland. Explorers can expect to see lush rainforests and creeks, mountain ranges, panoramic lookouts, dirt gravel, and paved tracks, dairy farms, and diverse animal life. The trails crisscross the stunning swathes of country that connect the hinterland towns of Pomona, Cooran, Kin Kin, and Tewantin.

The trails offer opportunities for both hiking and cycling (or even horse riding), depending on how you like to explore! You can download a map of all the trails and their recommended methods of adventure via Noosa Trail Network Brochure.

The trail network is more than just a physical journey; it's a testament to conservation efforts and sustainable practices within the biosphere. It emphasises the delicate balance between preserving the environment and encouraging responsible recreation.

For those seeking a deeper connection with nature, cultural heritage, and the spirit of conservation, the Noosa Biosphere Trail Network stands as an invitation to explore, learn, and appreciate the remarkable beauty and significance of this unique UNESCO biosphere reserve.

Difficulty You can pick and choose your difficulty, doing small loops for slow and easy exploration or opting for something more challenging by conquering the entire network by bike in one day.

Favourite Parts All the lookouts along the Biosphere Trail Network are very rewarding, our favourite being the James M. McKane Memorial lookout, which offers bird's-eye perspectives of the surrounding areas. Trail 5 is our top pick of the trail options. It has just been upgraded by the local council, and they've done an incredible job. It will take you through rainforests and along waterways, connecting to some local towns where you can stop for lunch and a cold beer.

Helpful Tips:

  • Carrying a map is essential. The trails intersect along the network, which can become confusing.
  • Pack swimming gear, as there are plenty of creeks and swimming holes to take a dip!
  • To get the most out of the trail network, we'd recommend exploring by e-bike.
