27 Jun 2024

The Noosa World Surfing Reserves is hosting the Save The Waves Film Festival on Saturday 13 July from 6-9pm at the Noosa Surf Museum, 3 Hilton Tce, Tewantin, Noosa.

The main feature movie is Place of Thorns, the story of Puerto Escondido, Mexico (Playa Zicatela) Supertubes, produced by Alan Van Gysten and Edwin Morales, which is under threat from over-development.

The film festival includes a shorts movie program from internationally renowned surf and environmental filmmakers. This is coupled with a special preview of “The Pot's Cooking” tube-riding competition videos of the best of the best tubes ridden at Boiling Pot in the Noosa National Park.

Food and drinks will be available on the night.

This is a fundraiser event for Noosa World Surfing Reserve defibrillator maintenance and our Noosa Shire Surf Safety School programs, along with the preservation of Noosa’s local surfing history, in conjunction with the Noosa Surf Museum.

Creating awareness about coastal protection and safeguarding our unique surf breaks - we urge you to get on board and help protect our surf zones.

Raffle prizes include a Thomas Longboard, Blue Zone escape adventure, and an ONeil Steamer Wetsuit draw.

Tickets at the door or online via Eventbrite.
