Plastic Free Noosa Beach Clean-ups

Plastic Free Noosa is committed to the protection and conservation of the Noosa Biosphere Reserve by empowering local businesses, the community, and visitors to eliminate single-use plastics from circulation.

Over 1 million marine animals across 633 marine species are killed every year due to the estimated 100 million tons of plastic debris in the ocean around the world.

Noosa provides a central ocean corridor to an abundance of marine species and fauna, including our much-loved humpback whales, many resting with their calves in our bay as they journey south.

Plastic Free Noosa clean-up events are an opportunity to connect with Noosa's rich diverse environment and be part of the solution to plastic pollution and help protect our precious marine life for generations to come.

Collect microplastics and other plastic pollution from the coastline, creeks, estuaries, and rivers across Noosa. Choose to get hands-on and join in on the sorting and recording of waste collected and gain insight into the Australian Marine Debris Initiative.

Join us for a Tread Lightly experience with Plastic Free Noosa on your next visit!

SUPPORTING OTHER CLEAN-UP EVENTS

Plastic Free Noosa works closely with a number of local environmentally based organisations equally passionate about the protection and conservation of the Noosa Biosphere Reserve.

Plastic Free Noosa connects visitors with other local clean-up events hosted by the Noosa Integrated Catchment Association (NICA), Drop Bear Adventures, K’gari Fraser Island Adventure Tours and the Surfrider Foundation Noosa and more.

By 2050, it is estimated that there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish.

Join us on a clean-up and be part of the solution to marine plastic pollution while on holiday in Noosa.
